Bliss Skin Care Part 1

October 28, 2009

I have been using bliss products for quite sometime and im quite infatuated with them. Im dividing this post into 4 parts, this is part 1, just a breakdown and some comments about their products.  Part 2 3 4 is more of reviews with the skincare products i bought from them. So let's get on with it :]

Bliss actually divided their products into different regimes, for different cartergories of people!

A simple breakdown!

For the normal to combination skin (aka people like moi):

Perfect for anyone looking to delay the signs of aging, these everyday essentials rejuvenate, hydrate, and balance the skin like you've just had a facial.

Fabulous Foaming Face Wash, $22

Pore Perfecting Facial Polish, $30

Daily Detoxifying Facial Toner, $26

Best of Skintentions® Daily Moisturizer, $35

All-Around Eye Cream™, $28

Lid+Lash Wash Makeup Remover, $14

For the oily or blemish prone skin!

Perfect for skin that's too slick for its own good or in cahoots with some serious skin-dehydrating perpetrators, these purifying products created just for the oil prone will bust that combination's operation. It's like a deep-cleaning facial right at your own sink.

Steep Clean™ Deep Pore Cleanser, $32

Steep Clean Mattifying Toner Pads, $38

Steep Clean® Mask, $54

Steep Clean Mattifying Moisturizer, $48

Steep Clean™ Mattifying Gel, $36

Change Your Spots™ Acne Gel, $32

For the anti-aging!

Based on the top 10 antiaging ingredients Bliss' estheticians have used over years of giving great face, this line-leveling, legendary lineup is perfect for anyone battling wrinkles, fine lines, dark spots, and dull skin.

The Youth As We Know It Cleanser, $30

The Youth As We Know It Toner, $28

The Youth As We Know It, $79

The Youth As We Know It Concentrate, $70

The Youth As We Know It Eye Cream, $75

the EXTRAAAAS!

Treat yourself and enhance your daily skincare regimen with Bliss' signature spa essentials that give specific skin woes a time-out while you get some well-deserved R&R. Hone in on your problem spot, one or all, with this esthetician-tested arsenal.

Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask, $52

Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask, $54

Peeling Groovy Facial Serum, $65

Thinny Thin Chin™ Neck Firming Cream, $48

Baggage Handler™ Eye Gel, $28

Yup so that's the breakdown. Just a side note, for steep clean: people with combination skins shouldnt use this line much (i'll explain in detail in the next part). This is really for the 100% oily and the ones with blemish problem and not the ones with the occasional blemish. The normal line is great enough! I know some girls like me want our face to be OIL FREE and we think that the tzone oil is deemed to be oily but the steep clean line is really quite drying. Yup that's about it.

Where to get it:

Sephora.com and in all Sephora outlets in Singapore

Tag:10 Questions

October 23, 2009

Rules: You are to answer all the quetions. Do not leave any question empty (:

10 Questions :

1. Dramatic eye looks or Natural Eye looks?

I like natural eye looks with colour!

2. Matte or Shimmer Shadows?

A mix of both but more shimmer!

3. Purple Pinks or Blue Greens?

I LOVE PURPLES AND GREENS, both together with GOLDS :D

4. Lips with gloss or without gloss?

Depends? Sometimes i like lipstick while other times i like gloss!

5. Contour Or Bronzer?

What's the difference? I think bronzer!

6. Nude lippies Or Pink Lippies?

Nudeeeeeeee!

7. Coral or Pink Blush?

Im not sure. Some pinks look weird on me while other times, corals either dont appear or make me look sunburnt.

8. Drugstore or Departmental Store Makeup?

DEFINITELY DEPARTMENTAL STORE. Okay call me a makeup snob but i just think that departmental store makeup is more worth the money? Of course i refering to Watsons/ Guardian, not US based like Drugstore/Walmart/Target.

Etude House Haul!

October 23, 2009

Clockwise (left to right): Sleeping Pack in Pore Tightening, Aqua Sherbet Ice Toner, BB Magic Cream in Refreshing, Dr Mascara Fixer for Perfect Lash, Peach Cheek Blusher in #4 Smile Peach,  O2 White Mask and O2 White Mask Sheets.

Has anyone been to Etude House yet?

I have been seeing posts about this Korean makeup/skincare brand but not much on the actual products so i thought i'll start first!  I wasn't really enticed by these posts but rather, one day when i was walking towards TANGS Orchard via the underpass, i noticed this PINK, princessy store at the underpass. And foreword: i love anything pink and princessy (note, not GAUDY) so i was enticed by it. I just speed browsed through the store and left w/o anything cause i was still preparing for my exams at that time. Neeways, i ended the horrible exams and i went straight to Etude House for some serious shopping!

I basically bought mostly skincare stuff :D

I got the

  1. Sleeping Pack in Pore Tightening

This is a mask that you put on and you can go straight to sleep without the mask cream staining your pillows. Isnt it cool! Etude House has so many cute and cool things, i think i saw a Lip and Chin Mask too aha. Anyway, I wanted something that screamed PORE TIGHTENING so i got this,  i  got mine in Pore tightening but they have other types so you can check those out. I only tried it once so i can't give a precise review but my 2 cents on this is that

1. It dries SUPER FAST, really doesnt stain your pillows
2.I don't see much pore tightening but for skin care products, you need some time before you see effects so im going to try it again later.
3. It smells quite nice HAHA

So that was my 2 cents :D

2. Aqua Sherbet Ice Toner

The advertisement said the ice toner was ICE COOL or something along the lines and i was intrigued by that. I like refreshing sprays e.g. MAC Fix+ and Evian Spray so i wanted to try it out. When i tried this in the store, it really was ICE COOL but when i got home and tried it again, i was solely disappointed at first . Either nothing came out or foam came out (which is not supposed to be the case) and i was like super pekcek, until i realize - I NEEDED TO SHAKE IT BEFORE USING. So i did and was cooling and refreshing yes. No results but theres still time for results to show heh.

3.BB Magic Cream in Refreshing

I admit, i was scared of BB creams because i bought one before and i hated it, it was thick and digusting and gave me a white cast like ghost. So when the SA recomended this, i was kind of afraid to see it but when i tried it on, i liked it! It did minimize the pores' appearance and everything it advertised and it didnt give much of a white cast! Initally i looked whiter but when the product oxidised, you could barely notice it. I tried it a few times and used it as a base, together with my MSF Natural and so far, i like what im seeing. One unique thing is that, this tube, has a pump to it. Other bb creams come in the tube like form and u just squeeze product out. Isnt tht cute!

4.Dr Mascara Fixer for Perfect Lash

There was another mascara primer (i think its called Natural Lash). This one is to "volumize and curl your lashes" while the other one separates and lengthens. My lashes are long enough but they are sparse so i wanted a volumizing one. I havent tried it yet but fingers crossed!

5.Peach Cheek Blusher in #4 Smile Peach

This is super cute! Im not sure how to explain the product design but its like this is a stamp and you just stamp on colour on your cheeks and blend it out. Its pretty smooth so i wanted to try it, i havent try it yet but if you girls want detailed pictures of it, tell me and i post it up!

6.O2 White Mask

its supposed to contain oxygen i think? Im not too sure, its called O2(oxygen) carrier complex so i guess it does contain oxygen. But Okay i got phobia of this. i initially wanted to get this because i am a sucker for bestseller products and the SA was recomending this and whatnot.  And i got it and i tried it yesterday, i was shocked! It was kind of stinging and it made my skin kind of red. I dont really have sensitive skin so i dont think the problem lies on my skin (although red patches appear easily true). I was so scared i went to look the list of ingredients and you know what? It contains hydrogen peroxide which i think is an active ingredient in killing blemishes! Hydrogen Peroxide does sting when i put on my blemishes but now im putting it all over my face! When i removed the mask, my skin was red but it was smooth and it did appear whiter after the redness wore off. Im not sure, i think i'll give it another try before writing a review on it. Meanwhile girls, dont get suckered by the best seller label!

7.O2 White Mask Sheets.

They were giving it free away with every purchase and the cashier accidentally gave me another one so yup. Its the same as the O2 white mask mentioned earlier, just that this one is in sheet form. They dont sell these in their stores though

And because i spent over an amount, they gave me this etude house plastic bag(the plaid pink thing in the picture) and a lee min ho file and i also got its membership! The membership card is really cute, its the size of american membership cards with a hole at the left corner. About thrice or four the times of your sim card haha.

So that's about it girls. Im still going back next time to try their accessories and makeup (i want to try their peach colour) as well as their nail polishes which are really pretty. The testers are pretty gross though. So till the next haul (which is pretty soon), Bye ladies!

Due Long Ago: MAC Style Black and DSquared Collection

October 17, 2009

Finally i have time to post about this collection :D

My last post only mentioned about what i got and i played with some of this after i updated about what i got from this collection so here goes!

From Style Black

Honestly i am not a black girl, to be honest i am not a DARK shadow kind of girl. I have a few dark colors but i dont use them that often, i wear specs and smokey eyes look weird with glasses duh :] But i did give it a chance and i found some that i really liked!

1. Greastpaint Stick

Okay so this black shadestick like cream shadestick is really awesome! I read some reviews about it smudging and i want to say, ITS SUPPOSED TO BE SMUDGED OUT. Or else, its really a concentrated patch of cream. The problem though, is when i smudge it out, it looks like my eye is dirty. So i think its quite hard for me to use it on its own or i really have to blend it really well. Anyway, i like this, it allows blues purples and greens to really SHINE. The other colours of the rainbow? It looks dirty to me :D

2.  Gilt by Association Mineralize Eyeshadow

I like the name, it reminds me of pearls :] Anyway, i was planning to get all the e/s caused i liked the swatches i saw online but when i saw it with my own eyes, its like alot of glitter and nothing.  I wanted the blue one alot but its was a HUGE disappointment. It was black shadow and blue glitter which didnt even stick. I have the same ones in my collection already so i didnt get this. I like this one the best but not by much, i did like how the gold matched the black in the e./s

3. 214 brush

Again, i wasnt planning to get this. Just that i was sold when my MUA, said: it smudges cream e/s really well and you can line your eyes with eyeshadow with it. AND IT DOES. I like lining my eyes with eyeshadow with this better than the 219, i find it just a bit too thick. I havent try smudging cream e/s out with it though.

From DSquared

1. Sculpt and Shape Powder in Bone/Beige Emphass

i was deciding between this and the other one and i didnt like how the other one looked so OBVIOUS on me. I like the light shading which is like barely there. SUPER NATURAL. Caution: Dont get this if u dont like pratically-nonexistent makeup. Anyway, i had heard good stuff about this powder so i wanted to give it a try.

2. 165 Brush

I got this to use it with the SandS Powder, i used it today and it seemed pretty well. Its good for doing the triangular highlight :D But im not too sure about the contour part. Who knows, maybe i;ll have another use for it :D

3. Grease Paint Sticks in B and V

i think the names are cute, the blue one is B (blue duh) and the purple one is V (violet haha). These are really pigmented i  feel and i like how they can be used on their own, as liners. If you follow MBB, then you should know that these come with sharpeners so you can use them for liners which i think is SO COOL. Haha :D Anyway, i got the purple cause i wanted a purple base(being the purple fanatic i am) and the blue, because they made my eyes look brighter :D

I also got the Zoomblack Fast Lash or something like that. I like the formulation, i think i'll use it once i dump my Guerlain( AWESOME PRODUCT) one :D

Anyway, have you guys preordered from the Holiday Collection Yet? I went down Tangs yesterday and i noticed not all the products are in yet. I think none of those little pigment/lipgloss boxes and those MES but the rest are availiable. I forgot which ones i ordered but i only got 2 things, the e/s palette with the blue shadows and the pink faceset. :D What did you guys get? (or are planning to get)

Toodles!

Short update + what i got from styleblack and others

October 04, 2009

Hello guys,

Im typing this at SPEED of LIGHT cause im supposed to be studying for my exams, in a week's time. Posting what i got from StyleBlack and the other collections and then, after my exams im going to do the whole post, e.g. pictures raves and rants and all :D

From styleblack:

- Gilt by Association MES

- Black Greasepaint Stick

-214 brush

From Dsquared

- B Greasepaint Stick

- V Greasepaint Stick

-Sculpt and Shape in Bone/Beige Emphasis

To treehouseglory and xbeanie (i think), the SnS is not a must have, i tried it on and it's very subtle, but NOTICEABLE (like you can only notice it if you stare at it for a loooong time under SUPER bright lighting) - in other words, pretty nice :D I could tell the difference my face looked, in a good way. So i hope this answered your question?

-165 brush

From Zoomblack Lash - the mascara duh

I also got the Studio Sculpt Concealer in some shade which i don't remember.

Yup, that's what i got. More, in a week, wish me luck for exams (cross fingers super tightly!)

Sephora Haul #4

September 13, 2009

I got this together with the MAC MAC colletion. I only wanted to walk out with my Burts' Bees Lip Shimmer in Caramel but instead, i got these stuff!

1. Burts' Bees Beewax Lip Balm

Forgot the lip shimmer, i like this much better! I had liked the lip shimmer for that mint effect so i wanted to get another one when i lost mine. I was curious whether all the lip products had the same effect so i asked this SA who told me that this had the same effect without the shimmer/colour and i absolutely love it! It tied first place for lip balms in my heart, together with MAC's lip conditioner in the tube form :] The downside? The mint effect wears off pretty quick so i keep reapplying it but its not biggie :]

2.Burts' Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme

I LOVE THE SMELL OF THIS. Yes i love almond, and i was looking for a moisturizer for my elbows and palms AND my curticles and the same SA recomended this. Was sold when she let me smelled it :D

3. ME! Bath. Land of Milk and Honey Honey Sherbet

I had this in the shower gel form but i lost it. Was looking for a body scrub and the SA brought me around to many different exfoliaters, none that i like because i felt they were too fine. Wanted something more coarse and when she tried this on me, i love it! It is coarse enough to scrub away those icky dead skin but doesnt seem to be THAT rough, that my skin appears red. I have tried this for about 5 times and i love it. I use my wooden spoon to scoop out a small amount of product, about teh size of 2/3 50 cent coins stacked together and i use this for about 1 leg? I use less for each arm and i love it!

4. Burts' Bees Herbal Blemish Stick

Before i comment on this, i want to say this. I said the Nexcare pimple plasters thingy were my HG for treating pimples right? Yes it is, just that i feel it works more eficiently on those pus-y pimples. I wanted something to get rid of those red bumps that always seem to appear and when i saw teatree oil as one of the ingredients, i was sold. I tried it a few tiems and it worked pretty well! The downside is that it contains strong alcohol and when i put them near my nose, i bring the alcohol in which is -.-

But i like it!

The last picture u see is courtesy of the SA. She was so nice! I was asking for recomendations for a GOOOOD moisturizer so she brought me to the Bliss section and we started talking about moisturizers and masks and then she surprised me by taking out 2 5g jars and she squeezed the steep clean moisturizer and moisturizer in, and gave me 3 new spatulas! Isnt that so nice of her? I havent tried it but im planning to try the masks soon. Will  tell u guys more about it after usage.

So yup,  that's all. I am happy to say, i am liking Sephora Ion more and more :D

For Heavenly Gorgerous :D

September 10, 2009

There you go girl, margin blush swatch :]

6. I have a bad temper, HAHA :D

Yup that's all. I think everything has already done this tag so i won't bother to nominate. Again, thanks to those who nominated me :D
